Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate need for a dynamic Environmental Manager in our growing Design Build Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects. 

The successful candidate will assist in supporting KIE in the pursuit of projects to identify and develop solutions for addressing environmental risks and compliance.
 

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects.  Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk.  Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety.   Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and best practices for all projects that we support.

This position will be based out of our Lone Tree, CO office.

Responsibilities

•    Leverage your environmental and NEPA experience to perform detailed reviews of Design-Build RFP documents
•    Experience with rail projects in Design-Build delivery
•    Experience developing SWMPs
•    404 permitting experience related to rail and transportation projects
•    Maintain permitting agency relationships (USACE, USFWS, State Agencies)
•    Translate RFP documents into risks and opportunities for design and estimating
•    Communicate through interdisciplinary task forces
•    Understand and monitor design refinements
•    Partner with consultants to cover all environmental subject areas 
•    Assist estimating team in developing cost and schedule to manage environmental risks and compliance
•    Identify solutions and scheduling opportunities to ensure KIE has the best chance at winning work and managing environmental risks
•    Help develop departmental procedures 
•    Keep abreast of Federal and state(s) environmental legislation and regulations.
•    Conduct environmental training.
•    Participate with the company environmental staff to continue to identify best practices and conducting environmental compliance audits with the Corporate Environmental Department.
 

Qualifications

•    Undergraduate degree in an environmental science, engineering field or related field.
•    Minimum of 12 years of environmental regulatory experience. 
•    Strong written and oral communications skills.
•    Ability to facilitate team information and be professional
•    Environmental experience in policies and procedures, regulatory affairs, permitting, due diligence and auditing.
•    Strong training and management expertise.
•    Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•    Act as a technical resource.

Base Compensation: $90,053  - $135,079 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
