Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Manager with Infrastructure experience to join our Design Engineering Services (DES) team in Denver, CO. Looking for the ideal candidate to manage systems and production relating to Computer Aided Design and Civil Information Modeling (CIM) systems. This role offers significant opportunity to be part of cutting-edge Civil Transportation BIM technologies and work on world-class engineering projects in the Highway, Rail, and Transportation industries.  The successful candidate will have extensive experience using Autodesk products.  You should be a self-motivated professional with experience in this role and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally.

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects.  Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk.  Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety.   Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. Location

This position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO office.

Responsibilities

•    Coordinate with internal and external design production teams to initiate, produce and deliver projects
•    Develop and implement project specific resources to ensure project design teams produce consistent deliverables.
•    Oversee the work of CAD designers, making sure that drawings adhere to applicable project standards.
•    Audit projects for compliance to district quality procedures and project client standards. Participate in a projects internal design reviews to ensure client standard are met for milestone deliverables.  Implement tools to validate compliance of projects CAD deliverables in adherence with the project's standards 
•    Create, delivery and maintain Project CAD Manuals 
•    Contribute to the creation of Project Execution Plans
•    Implement and execute CAD quality procedures on projects
•    Deliver project CAD orientation training
•    Deliver company CAD application training  
•    Coordinate with design partner’s CAD Managers/Leads to resolve technical or logistical issues 
•    Project CAD customization and standardization to enhance productivity
•    Collaborate with design and engineering software vendor to promote company objectives
•    Mentor and develop CAD team members
•    Participate in weekly coordination calls and periodic presentations regarding CAD related items
•    Coordinate with IT to solve local and project level problems related to CAD deliverables and project technology needs
•    Maintain and support workflows for internal and external design content management

Qualifications

•    15+ years’ experience of project implementation of CAD applications
•    Experience with the implementation of client specific CAD standards on projects
•    Design production experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD
•    Must have Infrastructure or Transportation background
•    Basic knowledge of InRoads, MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer for design production
•    Experience with Civil Information Modeling
•    Experience with Design Content Management via Bentley ProjectWise
•    Experience with front end digital coordination efforts, ensuring all discipline design and production teams are enabled and in compliance with project requirements
•    Experience with the definition, documentation and implementation of CAD standards and execution plans
•    Experience with troubleshooting CAD issues and delivering CAD training 
•    Experience with a multi-format CAD production environment and corresponding interoperability challenges
•    Strong ability to communicate
•    Strong teamwork and leadership capabilities
•    Strong understanding of engineering work processes
•    Self-motivated and results focused, with the ability to work with minimal supervision 
•    Good written and oral communication, particularly English to facilitate working with teams located all over North America
•    A problem solving, conceptual thinker and able to work with complex systems
•    Associates degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology, or similar program experience

Base Compensation: $69,478  - $104,216 
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
