Position Overview
Kiewit Building Group is looking for a Estimating Manager that can lead various estimates up to $250+ million for vertical commercial projects in the markets of commercial buildings, healthcare, mixed use, housing, government installations. Duties will include, but are not limited to leading a team of estimators, participate and implement win strategies, presentation of estimates to Executive Management and estimates to clients, reading and interpreting documents, subcontractor solicitation, analyze drawing and specifications for risk. Reviewing and assisting with proposals, managing 3rd party cost estimating contractors, and other duties as required to prepare cost estimates for various types of work (including self-perform). Conceptual estimating, preconstruction services, design-assist and design-build management.
District Overview
Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Its capabilities include general construction, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development. Kiewit also provides fast, accurate preconstruction project management services.
Location
This position will be based out of one the following Kiewit Building Group hubs in Denver, CO.
Some travel will be required for pursuits in other geographical regions and offices.
Responsibilities

Leading a team of estimators and engineers in pursuits to get work at the right price.

Task management, strategies, resource leveling and estimate close out processes.

Communicate and present a detailed estimate to executive management and clients

Communicate and present estimates to clients.

Analyze drawings and specifications to understand the scope of work

Reviewing and assisting with proposals and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for various projects.

Become proficient in Kiewit’s estimating program, “In Eight Estimate”.

Provide leadership and strategy in subcontractor and vendor selection process.

Implement and adhere to policies and procedures.
Qualifications
-
Undergraduate degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering or similar related program required.

At least 10 years of estimating experience required.

Ability to lead large estimates and lead multiple teams.

Passion for preconstruction and estimating.

Strong communication skills both in person and virtual. Strong work ethic and self-starter is a must.

Ability to utilize computers, and experienced with Microsoft Office, Excel, On Screen takeoff, other estimating software programs. Willingness to learn new systems. Kiewit utilizes a proprietary estimating program, “InEight Estimate”.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to work with limited instruction and implement successful action items.

Applicant must be proficient with conceptual, design assist, hard bid and self-perform estimating.

Results orientated with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

Must be detail oriented and technically sound with good communication skills.

Base Compensation: $165,000/yr - $177,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
