We are adding a Supply Chain Contract Specialist to our team, to support our Strategic Commercial Contracting Group, due to growth and a strong backlog of work.  One of the key components of the job will be to assist procurement teams on various projects.  In this role, you will provide negotiation and contract-related support for project procurement.  You will interface with Project Procurement Managers, Supply Chain Specialists, Project Managers, Legal Counsel, Director of Procurement, and Sponsors for escalated issues.  If you would like to make a significant impact as we continue to grow Kiewit Supply Network, this is the opportunity for you! 

District Overview

Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining.  Our key objective is to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. Location

This position will be based out of Lenexa, KS. This is a shared service environment in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement (i) with identification of mandatory and recommended prime contract flow-down clauses for incorporation into vendor contract templates; and (ii) by working with Procurement Managers to develop/review project specific templates.     
  • Provide contract redline and negotiation support to project teams for contracts ranging from non-disclosure agreements to various types of material and subcontracting project specific contracts.
  • Support procurement staff meetings and provide communications to team as needed.
  • Interface with business, legal, risk, tax, suppliers and internal procurement departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management or equivalent degree, or military/employment experience combination
  • Operations/transactional/commercial experience in Energy markets of 5-7 years preferred 
  • 5 years negotiation experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Detail-oriented, highly motivated, effective time management skills, and excellent customer service and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge in contract risk evaluation and/or claims mitigation 
  • Strong persuasive skills a plus
  • Must be willing to travel periodically for periods of less than a week
