Position Overview

We are adding an additional Regional Compliance Manager to our Compliance Department to support our Power division.  This position will report to the Director of Corporate and Operations Compliance.  

 

In this role, your key responsibilities will include the development of Project, District, and Fixed Facility mitigation action plan (MAPs), annual assessments and continuous improvement of the operations compliance program for the district(s) you support.  You will be expected to identify and respond to regulatory risks and concerns, develop, implement, and document improvements to address deficiencies and mitigate risks. The role requires understanding, monitoring, and ability to assist operations in regulatory risks and changes that impact our work activities in Engineering and Construction. You will be involved in key regulatory areas which may include, but not limited to:  antitrust laws, prevailing wage / Davis Bacon and Related Acts, FAR clauses, DOT regulations, OSHA and ATF.   You will be expected to collaborate closely with numerous individuals and levels throughout the Company to promote a risk management culture, assist in understanding regulatory requirements, and consistently communicate regulatory risks to varying levels of management and stakeholders.

Location

This position can be located in either our Omaha NE, or Lenexa KS office,  with significant travel required to other Kiewit offices and project locations. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide compliance and risk management support for assigned district(s), which includes set up of compliance focused systems and tools for the district, and coordinate/lead the development of Mitigation Action Plans (MAPs) with Business Partners .
  • Ensure training of Project Compliance Coordinators (PCCs) and provide other staff training in compliance as necessary.
  • Support assigned districts in relevant compliance topics by being proficient in the topic through continuing education, attending conferences and monitoring of regulatory changes associated with those topics.  (Key Regulatory topics may include, but not limited to:  antitrust laws, prevailing wage / Davis Bacon and Related Acts, FAR clauses, DOT regulations, OSHA and ATF regulations).
  • Operate in our InEight tool for compliance on a daily basis.  
  • Perform Pre-Bid/Proposal compliance reviews when requested, support Business Planning Efforts and provide new project startup support. 
  • Perform compliance assessments per the Operations Compliance Program, and ethics and compliance reviews of potential JV partners and report compliance issues/findings to District Management.
  • Ensure remediation of assessment findings and Implement the Elevated Risk Project Program on identified projects.
  • Oversee the administration and distribution of compliance results.
  • Support Districts/Projects during agency inspections/audit.
  • Identify best practices and lessons learned for the continued improvement of Operations Compliance.
  • Promote and support the company’s Core Values and Expected Behaviors.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
  • 5+ years of field experience or related experience with exposure to regulatory compliance topics; familiarity with the construction and engineering industry required.  Experience in the Power and/or Nuclear Markets is preferred.
  • Experience or understanding of Kiewit's unique organizational structure and experience working with various levels of management at the corporate, shared services and field operational levels, highly desired.
  • Demonstrate a high level of communication and time management skills while coordinating with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently and think analytically with minimal oversight. 
  • Utilize critical thinking to offer practical solutions to business partners, districts, and project teams, as well as the overall Compliance Program.
  • Experience or knowledge with regulatory topics like antitrust laws, prevailing wage / Davis Bacon and Related Acts, FAR clauses, DOT regulations, OSHA and ATF regulations desired.
  • Experience with risk assessments and audit methodologies, control activities and mitigation strategies.
  • Must be able to travel as needed up to 75% of the time and may require relocation.
