Position Overview

Kiewit Off-Site Supplier Quality is recruiting for a Quality Coordinator (Engineer) position to support: reviewing vendor documents (e.g., inspection and test plans, welding procedures, coating procedures); coordinating witness tests with inspectors, engineers, clients, and outside inspection agencies; developing inspection packets; resolving vendor issues. 

Applicant should have a strong interest in manufacturing processes, engineering, welding, non-destructive testing, and construction. 

District Overview

Kiewit Off-Site Supplier Quality (OSSQ) is responsible for ensuring engineered equipment is manufactured and tested in accordance with project requirements through review of supplier procedures and witnessing tests at manufacturing facilities in the US and around the world.  Engineered equipment may include pumps, turbines, compressors, pressure vessels, valves, transformers and ultrasonic metering skids for the power, oil & gas industries. 

Location

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS. This position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel. 

Responsibilities

  • Review supplier submittals such as inspection and test plans, welding and coating procedures, manufacturing and test procedures, and completed test reports to verify conformance with contracts, datasheets, equipment specifications, codes and standards
  • Review supplier findings and NCR’s and coordinate developing Supplier Corrective Actions plans.  Coordinate with engineering or project quality managers to approve final disposition
  • Build inspection documentation packages from multiple sources including Contracts, Material Requisitions, Project Technical Specifications, Datasheets, supplier drawing and data submittals for upcoming inspections.  This may include coordination with 3rd party inspectors, engineers, and OSSQ inspectors.  Accuracy and completeness of these packages is critical to the success of the inspection
  • Travel up to 25% of time to attend pre-fabrication meetings at supplier facilities, expedite supplier’s production schedule, provide issues resolution support when require
  • Support the review of other supplier submittals

Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical or engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or Welding Engineering preferred)
  • Competency and experience to review vendor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), welding procedures, and coating procedures for conformance to contract, specifications, and codes
  • Team player with the ability to work multiple projects and assignments independently and respond quickly to issues requiring immediate action
  • A high level of personal accountability and ownership for assigned responsibilities and wiliness to take on additional responsibilities as they arise to support project and client needs
  • Supplier quality experience preferred
  • A working knowledge of design and craft disciplines and plant equipment and materials associated with Energy, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas projects and must be familiar with their associated special processes, inspections, and testing techniques
  • Detail oriented, flexible and highly motivated
  • Effective time management and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel).  InEight Document (TeamBinder) experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
