Position Overview

As a Proposal Manager supporting Kiewit’s Nuclear market across North America, you will oversee the pursuit process and proposal best practices. This person is responsible for maintaining direct relationships and regular communication with key internal stakeholders to understand upcoming and forecasted bid loads, business unit priorities, and market dynamics.  This position reports to the proposal strategy manager within Kiewit’s energy sector and will coordinate with Kiewit’s local district operations leaders, engineers and estimators.

District Overview

The Kiewit Energy marketing, creative and proposal team provide get-work services to an array of markets, including power generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, industrial, oil and gas, and water/wastewater. Individuals in this department get exposure to a mix of high profile, complex pursuits across North America valued from $5M-$6B. This incredibly profitable, competitive, fun group focuses on winning more work with high-quality, client-focused sales strategies through creative communication techniques. Our rapidly growing team, which includes graphic designers, proposal professionals, writers, digital strategists, marketers, and data analytics brings vast experience, communication expertise, innovative concepts, and best practices to all projects we support across the company. 

Location

We're open to this role being based in Houston TX, Lenexa KS, or Oak Ridge, TN. Opportunities for flexible work are available. 

Responsibilities

•    Receive all RFP, pre-and post-bid support requests; assess support requests and submit key details to resource manager. 
•    Attend kick-off and review meetings for market-specific proposals/support requests, review strategic and/or critical proposal content, and provide constructive, efficient and productive feedback to other proposals staff. 
•    Oversee, review and edit market specific RFI, RFQ and RFP responses to ensure alignment with client requirements, execution strategy, proper use of AP writing style and grammar, and to enhance strategic messaging.
•    Attend relevant sales meetings. 
•    Support proposal lead’s understanding of project scope, win strategy and pursuit team. 
•    When requested, lead strategic proposals including preparation work such as building the compliance matrix, content development with section champions, facilitating review meetings and final production. 
•    Facilitate strategy and storyboarding sessions.
•    Brainstorm with graphic designers both technical and informational graphics with visual persuasion 
•    Travel as needed: 10% per year
 

Qualifications

•    At least 5 years of proposal management experience in A/E/C (or related) industry with an emphasis on Nuclear, DOE, Federal, Government, or Municipal related projects to include engineering, procurement and construction.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications, Journalism, or English, although any related field to the A/E/C industry will be considered (i.e., construction management). 
•    Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
•    Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. 
•    Excellent understanding of construction and engineering-focused/technical writing skills.
•    Skilled at collaborating with and interviewing executives, engineers, construction managers, legal, designers, and others to secure information for various writing assignments.
•    Exceptional attention to detail, organization and active listening skills.
•    Strong emotional intelligence.
•    Self-motivated with ability to work well with professionals from various backgrounds.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects to consistently meet high standards and be attentive to quality. 
•    Driven for results and deadlines.
