Position Overview

The Project Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for executing Project Supplier Quality requirements on the Project as per the Clients requirements liaising with supplier fabrication site, project team and coordinate inspections. They will be the point contact for the Suppliers for Quality on the Project and interact with other disciplines, Engineering, Procurement and Project Management.

 

This is an office-based position, but there will be a requirement for the individual to travel up to 40% of this time both domestic and international as needed.

Location

This position will sit at the District Home Office in Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a project specific supplier quality plan for assigned projects
  • Review and approve project specific supplier quality and manufacturing documents including Quality plans, ITP, WPS/PQR, WPQ, Weld maps, MTRs, coating procedures etc. against codes, standards, and technical specifications.
  • Review and approval of supplier manufacturing records
  • Review and approve Supplier deviation requests / disposition technical queries related to Quality
  • Preparation of Project Specific Documents such as Project Quality Master Inspection Test Plans, estimates, forecasts, checklists, etc.
  • Coordinate with Supplier, Customer & TPI for witness and hold inspection points per project ITPs 
  • Act as the lead supplier quality representative on assigned projects and be the supplier quality liaison with the client and the project management team. 
  • Inspect or support assigned inspectors to ensure pressure vessels, equipment, piping, structural fabrications, and equipment are to code and project requirements
  • Manage assigned budget, inspectors, engineers, coordinator’s and 3rd party resources. Maintain an accurate forecast. 
  • Ensure Client Quality requirements are met as set forth in Client Specifications
  • Educate project management, engineering, and construction teams on the supplier quality program. 
  • Interface with Clients, Project Management and other teams as needed. 
  • Track, manage and resolve supplier nonconformities & quality issues. 
  • Perform Supplier Audits
  • Ensure alignment of inspection and expediting activities
  • Undertake training and maintain certifications as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or similar technical discipline AND 10 years of related industry experience OR Associates Degree AND 15 years of related experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • Competency in pressure vessel, piping, and structural welding (preferred)
  • Worked with a medium to heavy manufacturing facility with machining, welding, and assembly processes
  • Experience in oil, gas, refinery, power generation and/or water processing projects 
  • Ability to review project and customer technical specifications and incorporate the requirements into Project Quality Plans and ITP’s
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, piping, structural fabrications, etc.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard such as NACE, ASME, AWS, ISO etc. 
  • Knowledge of the design and fabrication requirements of equipment used in power and oil & gas industry
  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner

 

Desired skills

  • Quality Auditing
  • ISO 9001:2015 experience
  • CWI, CSWIP, NACE CIP Level 2 or similar certification
