Position Overview

Here is your opportunity to make a difference in the employee experience, by bringing front-end support to employees in one of the most personal and sensitive times in their career – leave of absence. As part of a highly collaborative, consultative and ambitious Leave Team, you’ll provide support to employees requesting a leave of absence. As a Leave of Absence Coordinator, you will service as the first point of contact for employee leave inquiries including FMLA, ADA, medical, military, parental, workers compensation and personal leaves.  This position also provides support to the Leave Advisors who manage the duration of leave requests after the initial consultation.

Location

This position will be based out of Lenexa, KS, or Omaha, NE, or Houston, TX.  This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leave concierge for employees planning and going through the leave process by guiding and educating employees through the pre-education and initiation phases of the leave process
  • Ensuring that all new leave requests are entered timely and correctly in the leave of absence software
  • Partner with Leave Advisors team members to ensure seamless handoff to the Leave Advisor who will manage the duration of the leave 
  • Build and manage strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders during the initiation phase of the leave process to ensure managers, HR Business Partners, and other internal customers to ensure they are information of requests and provided updates
  • Ability to coordinate and monitor tasks with other internal groups such as payroll
  • Collaborate with peers to share learnings, cross-train, leverage best practices, challenge the status quo, drive consistency, and deliver operational excellence
  • Identify and escalates issues as appropriate
  • Assists with other projects and reporting

Qualifications

  • Fluently bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources, related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and individuals
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects
  • Basic investigative and analytical skills sufficient to identify the employee’s need for leave and recommend a leave plan
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include: Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources experience preferred
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding leaves of absences, including HIPAA, FMLA, ADA preferred
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems preferred
