Position Overview

Kiewit Industrial and Water Engineering (KIWE) is seeking a Mid-Level Structural Designer. The successful candidate will work on a variety of construction projects, contributing to our mission of making a difference through the projects we deliver. Your expertise in Revit, clash detection, modeling, and Navisworks will be instrumental in driving project success.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in Revit with at least 2 years of full time Revit experience, 2+ years professional experience in Navisworks and BIM360/ACC, and be proficient in Autodesk and Microsoft products. Additionally, they will need to have a good understanding of building design documentation.

Kiewit’s Industrial and Water Engineering Group has the ability and the responsibility to greatly influence the successful outcome of our projects. Our team is multi-faceted, with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Location

This position is based out of either our Lenexa, Kansas or Lone Tree, Colorado office. 

Responsibilities

  •        Collaborate with project teams in developing designs and construction documents, incorporating BIM practices and applications
  •        Develops and manages project information while ensuring compliance with development information and information management standards and policies
  •         Maintain project design documentation through all phases of design and construction
  •         Ensures that project details and specifications are coordinated and communicated to the construction team through an integrated design process
  •         Works with project managers, engineers, and other designers to aid in project completion within schedule, budget and quality constraints
  •        Work closely with the BIM team and stakeholders to meet project objectives

Qualifications

  • Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design and 5+ years professional experience in Revit; or high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 8 years of structural design experience using Revit
  • 2+ years professional experience in Navisworks and Autodesk Docs
  • Proficient in Autodesk and Microsoft products
  • Ability to read and understand Construction Documents and Submittals
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit and Navisworks
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex BIM projects
  • Ability to understand and implement detail project specifications
  • Experience designing foundations, platforms, piperacks, tanks, and other related structures used in industrial, water, or manufacturing facilities.

Base Compensation: $75,000/yr - $110,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
