POSITION:  Electrical/Controls Engineer

Requirements: Masters’ degree* in electrical engineering or related. Two years’ experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer or related. Post bachelor's experience is required and must include: Designing switchyard and electrical distribution systems involving equipment such as transformer, automatic power factor correction capacitor banks, relays, drives and Diesel Generator sets based on ANSI as well as IEC standards.  Performing power systems study- load flow, arc flash analysis, short circuit calculations and relay-coordination in ETAP, SKM PTW based on ANSI as well as IEC standards. Designing 132kV Substation and power distributions systems for 11kV and 415V for a greenfield project. Designing complex category 3 plus monitoring safety circuits for critical and hazardous applications on making and packing line.

*Alternatively, employer will accept a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field, and five years’ experience as an electrical/controls engineer or related. Any suitable combination of experience, training or education is acceptable. 

Duties: Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to design the conceptual of large power projects. Formulate technical specifications and prepare interface points with construction partners. Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with other project personnel, performing bid evaluations of equipment and construction proposals, and developing recommendations for contract award. Prepare electrical engineer designs, including layout, design schematics, calculations and conceptual design, utilizing standard methods and project principles. Mentor and guide junior engineers, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes, and Kiewit guidelines, providing suggestions and recommendations as needed. Work as part of a large project team including both in-house inter-discipline engineers and construction superintendents to provide our clients the industry's best of both engineering and physical design.
