Position Overview
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking entry level Electrical Engineers. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also using these standards and tools to contribute to project success. As an entry-level Electrical Engineer, you will be a part of a growing team that supports all aspects of the construction process by performing innovative design engineering through brainstorming conceptual designs, performing and/or reviewing electrical calculations, developing plans, scheduling tasks to meet client needs, as well as mitigating risk to keep our construction crews safe.

Location
This role is in Oak Ridge, TN or Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, schematics, data sheets, and other technical drawings
- Researching and analyzing requirements from engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documents
- Preparing fundamental engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with Kiewit standards
- Providing preliminary equipment specifications for major electrical components
- Conducting bid evaluations
- Coordinating electrical equipment contracts directly with vendors and maintaining necessary engineering documentation and lists
- Developing and managing cable and raceway data using cable and conduit scheduling software
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, project managers, construction teams, and vendors
- Gaining familiarity with departmental design standards, relevant engineering codes, and policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited, four-year institution is required
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred
- A cumulative GPA above 3.0 is preferred
- Proficiency with essential computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, web browsing, and email programs, is expected
- A strong work ethic, high motivation, and a commitment to achieving quality results are essential
- Must be a US citizen with documentation for badge access
- Pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties
