Position Overview
The Estimating Analyst will report directly to the Estimating Data Domain Manager and serve as the primary support resource for estimators using KDS’ machine learning tools and data products. This role will support the development, deployment, and scaling of predictive data products including machine learning–powered estimating tools. This role sits within the Estimating Data Strategy team and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to applied data science initiatives that directly impact construction project planning and profitability.
You’ll partner with the Data Strategy Domain Manager to:
• Drive the adoption of our predictive estimating product
• Help assess and improve model inputs and performance
• Build analytics that inform both operational decisions and model enhancements
This position is ideal for those who have a technical foundation in tools like SQL, Python, Snowflake, and BI platforms which is essential for ad hoc support, validation, and usage analytics. This role collaborates cross-functionally with data scientists, data engineers, estimators, and operational leaders to shape the next generation of intelligent estimating solutions.

We are looking for an Estimating Tools & Adoption Analyst to join our data team to support the delivery and success of ML-powered estimating tools.
Location
This position will be located in our LaVista (Omaha), NE or Lenexa, KS office, and requires regular in-office attendance, with the potential for hybrid opportunities. This position will not provide relocation assistance.
Responsibilities
Estimator Support & Enablement:
• Serve as the go-to support contact for estimators using data tools and models.
• Answer questions about tool functionality, inputs, and results in clear, practical language.
• Collect and translate user feedback into actionable improvement recommendations.
Data Fluency & Technical Support:
• Understand how tools and models work: key inputs, assumptions, and outputs.
• Use SQL, Snowflake, or Python to support QA, monitor usage, and investigate user issues.
• Partner with Data Products and Engineering teams to resolve tool issues or data discrepancies.
Roadmap & Communication:
• Maintain adoption and support documentation.
• Help track rollout milestones and identify areas for re-engagement or retraining.
• Communicate updates clearly to estimators and business stakeholders.
New Tools & Collaboration:
• Work with the Estimating Data Manager & operational leaders to identify use cases and product opportunities.
• Assist in gathering business requirements and capturing estimator workflows.
• Collaborate with developers to test tool functionality during product development.
• Serve as the day-to-day project coordinator across stakeholders and technical teams.
• Ensure estimator needs are clearly represented throughout the build process.
Launch & Adoption Support:
• Coordinate rollout and hypercare for new or updated estimating tools.
• Develop user-facing resources such as release notes, how-to guides, and short videos.
• Organize and deliver training sessions to build user confidence and tool fluency.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 1 year Construction Estimating experience and familiarity with construction estimating processes or tools.
• At least 3 years of Data Analytics/Technical experience
• Working knowledge of SQL and at least one of the following: Python, Snowflake, Power BI, or Sigma.
• Clear, concise communicator with strong user-facing instincts.
• Proven ability to support digital tool adoption and explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Experience working with technical product teams or processes at a professional level
