Position Overview
As a Corrosion Control Engineer, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert in corrosion, materials, and protective coatings by developing company standards and procedures for technical specifications as well as perform onsite inspections.

Primary Responsibilities
• Act as an internal consultant for all corrosion, materials, and protective coatings issues.
• Collaborate with project management, engineers, suppliers, and the construction team to limit cost and risk associated with corrosion control on projects.
• Coordinate with external consultants as needed for specialized services such as failure analysis, corrosion protection, and cathodic protection design.
• Develop project level technical specifications and corrosion risk mitigation plans. Reply to technical inquiries from project teams.
• Review supplier/vendor submittals to ensure equipment and material is suitable for the intended service.
• Develop company standards and procedures for technical specifications, protective coatings and materials selection.
• Perform onsite inspections relating to corrosion.
• Maintain schedule and manage multiple work assignments and inspection plans to ensure successful project completions.
Qualifications
• At least 3 years of work experience with emphasis in corrosion control. EPC or design engineering firm experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, structural engineering, materials science, chemistry, or related field from an accredited university program.
• Basic internet navigation skills required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
• Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
• Experience with application of NACE, SSPC, and ISO standards related to materials selection, protective coatings, and cathodic protection preferred.
• Experience with cathodic protection design preferred but not required.
• Exceptional organization and communication skills
• NACE or SSPC membership and certification or the willingness to pursue such certifications.
