Position Overview

Kiewit Power Delivery is seeking a [Vice President, Business Line Manager] responsible for strategic market direction and the management of the pursuit process on competitive and major transmission project and program pursuits. This person will lead in project development, pursuit leadership and contract negotiations for targeted opportunities.  
You will develop and maintain trusting relationships with key client decision makers, stay abreast of client organizational and market changes, provide advice to design team of client needs and industry standards/requirements, and understand the business development opportunities with existing and potential clients. As such, the successful candidate will have responsibility for recommending market strategy and target opportunities, developing proposal strategy and participating in proposal and estimate preparation, provide insight and counsel for design parameters, interface with clients during project phases through to completion/commission, keeping abreast of industry regulatory changes, along with developing focused marketing approaches.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Delivery is a full-service engineering and construction solutions provider, completing projects of all sizes and complexity. Across North America, our experience spans all transmission and distribution market aspects from high-voltage overhead and underground transmission to distribution design, automation design and construction capabilities. With these broad capabilities, we operate in the electric utility, renewable energy, industrial, and oil and gas markets. 

Location

The location of this position is flexible and requires travel up to 50% of the time with overnight stays. 

Responsibilities

This position will be the responsibility for pursuit of targeted transmission and distribution project opportunities that align with the Kiewit Power Delivery market strategy. The successful candidate will perform the following:
•    Develop, prepare, and implement short- and long-term business development strategy around key T&D projects and programs. Recommend and present these plans to senior management as required. 
•    Lead pursuits, analyze results, and support existing client relationships to facilitate communication on current and future project performance.
•    Provide technical assistance, subject matter expertise, and industry regulatory insight to ensure client satisfaction on design and construction compliance.
•    Close engagement with the power delivery estimating teams before and during active pursuits.
•    Attend and effectively represent Kiewit at trade organization functions as identified and directed by management and in concert with other Kiewit business units. 
•    Coordinate across multiple Kiewit business units during the develop and implementation of project pursuit strategies. 
•    Identify and develop working relationships with key industry partners and OEMs. When necessary, assume the lead in Joint Venture and/or Consortium agreement development. 
•    Drive continuous assertive client follow up, rapid opportunity identification, and issue resolution.
•    Develop pursuit strategies and present go/no-go recommendations to senior and executive management. 
•    Advise and support other professionals involved in business development in their efforts with clients.
•    Work in coordination with Kiewit Legal teams and client legal teams to successfully negotiate project contracts.
•    Develop and maintain relationships with leadership across the power delivery marketplace. 
•    Key executive management informed of conditions, activities, and trends including customer or prospect changes, technical developments, market dynamics and competitive strategies. 
•    Actively participate in weekly meetings and annual business planning efforts

Qualifications

•    Ability to travel up to 50% of time with overnight stays.
•    15+ years’ proven experience in professional services related sales roles
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or business preferred (or for the right sales professional, a strong willingness and aptitude to gain through training a broad understanding of our market and specific service offerings)
•    Excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills and ability to positively motivate business development and marketing staff and clients
