Job Summary
Do you have a passion for modeling and architecting data to help solve interesting business problems? At Kiewit, we believe analytics can help to create an exceptional experience for our most valued resource – our people. Kiewit's People Analytics team is seeking an Analytics Engineer to advance their People Analytics function. We are looking for someone with 5+ years' work experience performing data modeling, data architecture, data transformation, ETL/data pipeline management, etc. in a professional setting and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
As the Analytics Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to build, manage, and re-architect the analytics layer of our data environment. You will interact with business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT resources, working to standardized our data and make this data more easily accessible. You will refactor and improve inefficient queries or data objects, working closely with Product and Engineering to ensure upstream additions and changes to production are modeled intuitively in our data warehouse.

At Kiewit, the scale of our operations is huge. Our construction and engineering projects span across the United States, Canada and Mexico, improving and connecting communities with every initiative. We depend on our high-performing operations support professionals — they’re the glue that holds multiple areas of the business together and the catalysts that make things happen. We hire only the most driven people and we offer them diverse career opportunities, strong leadership and mentorship, rewarding, collaborative work, and responsibility they won’t find just anywhere else. We’re always pushing new limits. You can too.

Responsibilities
•    Build and Maintain Analytics Data Layer – Your primary responsibility will be to empower our data analytics team by building a scalable and accessible analytics data layer. You will work with business users and data analysts to understand core data challenges and leverage your expertise in SQL (MS SQL Server and Teradata) to model raw data elements into useful semantic objects.
•    ETL and Data Pipeline – In order to create the necessary analytics layer, you will need to build and manage various ETL/data pipeline processes to ensure our data is accurately updated in a timely and efficient manner
•    Data Integrity, Governance and Documentation – You will play a critical role in ensuring our analytics team has access to the highest quality data. You will also document your processes and work with various members of data management and governance teams to create and implement data standards.
•    Data Collection – You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the core applications we leverage to collect data (SAP, Successfactors, etc.). You will work with stakeholders and key members of our product team to understand what data we capture today, as well as participate in the development/procurement of future solutions to help capture other necessary data we may not be currently collecting.
•    Team Support and Mentorship – As the team’s SQL wizard, you will play a vital role in the development of our team. You will work closely with your data analyst team members to improve the overall technical skillset of the team, ultimately creating greater data wrangling/modeling self-sufficiency amongst your peers
•    Data Analysis and Solution Delivery – While your core responsibilities center around data engineering, we will also look to provide you opportunities to become more involved with our analytics offering. This could involve producing ad-hoc reporting, aiding in analysis, or potentially building analytical solutions.
•    Analytical Advancement – We are intent on delivering a world class employee experience to our Kiewit employees and believe in the power of analytics to aid us in this mission. You will be expected to embrace this mission and work closely with your team members to advance our analytical capabilities.
