AWP Department Overview
Performing project facing functions from a centralized office environment, this group is charged to be a leader in technology implementation and adoption for improving efficiencies. Some examples of initial opportunities in this are: integrating Universal Plan Viewer with live operational data, and standing up Smart Materials with procurement and construction for holistic material tracking.
Location
This position will be based out of our Lenexa office, but must be able to travel up to 10% across North America.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manages a group of 2-5
• Train and mentor direct reports
• Lead on site audits and assessments
• Coordinate with design engineers to optimize design
• Utilize 3D model software to perform takeoffs on IFC drawings.
• Perform material takeoffs based on model and drawing data.
• Manage and maintain data quality and quantity in both the progress tracking and material databases.
• In close coordination with the project construction team and leveraging 3D model software, assemble takeoff components into work packages for use in constructing the project.
• Coordinate and communicate with respective project construction teams on work status and deliverables.
• Review model deliverables for data accuracy and coordinate with the engineering and design team to correct deficiencies.
• Adhere to schedules and work assignments to ensure successful project completion.
• Coordinate with other team members assigned to a project or task, and support work progress and results.
• Opportunity to travel to job sites and interface with the construction team
• Opportunity to participate in best-practice forums with other Kiewit Districts
Qualifications
• Construction experience or Design-Build/Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) project experience a plus
• Knowledge of drafting software such as MicroStation, Autodesk, Universal Plant Viewer, Solidworks, SmartPlant a plus
• High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment.
• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
• Associate’s degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology (or equivalent) or relevant certification
