Position Overview
Would you like to purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost for Kiewit Supply Network? What about Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives? Individuals with experience in an engineering and/or construction related role as well as basic procurement experience is desired, but not required. We’re looking for a team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. Someone that is detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time.
District Overview
Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining. Our key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client’s specifications and expectations.
Location
This position is an office position based out of Laval or Montreal, and may have job site opportunities.
Responsibilities
• Drive commercial and contractual negotiations and participate in clarification sessions.
• Draft agreements to mitigate and reduce risks.
• Responsible for the life-cycle of contracts from estimate to execution, through to the administration and close out phases.
• Perform contract close-out process and provide subcontractor and supplier feedback.
• Procure the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts as per specifications and drawings.
• Interface with various other departments and disciplines to evaluate and monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Confer with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or service and determine corrective action.
• Leverage supplier and subcontractor volume across multiple projects to create cost savings.
• Research and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities as well as their reputation and history.
• Participate in the proposal evaluation, development of terms and conditions and recommendations for commercial contracts.
• Monitor shipments to ensure goods and services adhere to the project schedule and resolve problems related to delays..
• Prepare/issue Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluate supplier and subcontractor proposals to identify which companies meet project constraints of budget and schedule at the estimating and execution phases.
• Help with the onboarding and training of new employees and interns.
Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and have a general knowledge of database utilization; SAP, InEight or Procore experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent degree .
• At least five years’ experience in an engineering and/or construction related role.
• Thorough understanding and at least five years’ experience in contract administration and RFP’s.
• Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time while working on several different files and/or projects.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives.
• Must be bilingual in French and English.
