Position Overview
Kiewit Southeast District is seeking a Sr. Surveyor/Survey Party Chief to join their onsite team in Jacksonville, FL. In this position, you will play a large role in the success and accuracy of our projects.
District Overview
Kiewit's Southeast District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations or tunnels. Although most of our work is regionally based in the southeast region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the east coast. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

Responsibilities
• Drafting and using CAD to collect data, and design layout plans
• Conduct to ensure the accuracy of the files prior to being used for survey field calculation.
• Oversee the operation with periodic reviews of record keeping, field procedures and survey audits to ensure that all work is performed in an efficient and professional manner
• Responsible for providing existing field conditions information to engineering and for maintaining As-built drawings for the project
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Construction Survey experience
• General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for civil/structural work standards
• Knowledgeable in construction plan reading
• Knowledge of various Survey instruments including Trimble, Lieca, and both GPS RTK rovers and robotic total stations
• Basic computer skills in MS Office/CAD Programs
• Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage)
• Dynamic thinker with the desire to manage, motivate and mentor teams
• Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time
