Position Overview
As a Project Engineer in Kiewit’s Southeast District, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of complex heavy civil infrastructure projects across Florida. You’ll lead both the administrative and technical aspects of construction, guiding field and cost engineers, and ensuring projects meet high standards for safety, quality, and performance.
This role offers the opportunity to work on transformative infrastructure such as highways, bridges, airports, tunnels, water/wastewater facilities, and mass transit systems. You’ll be a key liaison between construction managers and engineering teams, contributing to strategic planning and mentoring junior staff.

Kiewit's Southeast District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water resource markets, and has played a significant role in building infrastructure throughout the fast-growing southeastern United States. Since the 1970s, we have built projects from Maryland to Florida and west to Louisiana. Responsibilities
- Lead project scheduling and ensure adherence to timelines for on-time delivery.
- Manage project financials, including revenue, cost tracking, and cash flow.
- Oversee temporary works engineering and permanent design coordination.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate project closeout, ensuring all documentation and deliverables are complete.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing needs and expectations.
- Support operations planning and strategic decision-making.
- Administer contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in construction or engineering, preferably in heavy civil infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage engineering teams and deliver successful projects.
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting engineering plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Passion for safety and commitment to ethical construction practices.
- Willingness to travel and relocate within the Southeast region as needed.
