Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking an Electrification Engineer to support the rapid growth of the rails transit systems section and projects around the country. The person will work under the direction of a Senior Electrification Engineer, perform preliminary engineering and/or detail engineering design for various facilities and traction power systems for buildings, people movers, light rail, heavy rail, commuter rails systems and miscellaneous infrastructure projects, and perform CAD work for design packages. The Electrical Engineer will have opportunity to lead key sub tasks as part of a large project team on large projects and lead the design of smaller projects. This role is based out of our Itasca, IL location with the opportunity for flexible work.

Location
This position is based out of our Itasca, IL location with opportunities for flexible work are available.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and development of the electrical system
- Develop preliminary engineering design and detail engineering design for various facility electrical and traction power systems for people movers, light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail and miscellaneous infrastructure projects.
- Perform load calculations and coordination study for facility electrical and traction power systems utilizing engineering software, like ETAP
- Develop technical reports and white paper
- Perform field survey and field test
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or related fields, Master degree is preferred
- 8+ years' experience in electrical power design
- PE Preferred
- Rail Transit Systems project experience is highly desired
- Experience in preliminary and detail design of facility power
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel as business requires
- Proficient in CAD software, like AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Proficient in MS office suite.
