Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Level II PAUT Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) and hold a valid Level II PAUT certification. As a PAUT Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our projects through advanced non-destructive testing techniques.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Quality Group is a shared service that maintains and executes quality standards on projects across the company. Our principal quality objectives are to meet or exceed clients’ expectations and to eliminate rework by performing our work “right the first time.” We monitor our performance against these objectives and require continual improvement. 

Location

This position will be based out of Ingleside TX to start.  After 3-6 months this position will be project based and require extensive travel across the US. 

Responsibilities

•    Perform PAUT inspections on various materials and components to detect and evaluate discontinuities.
•    Interpret and analyze PAUT data to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
•    Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.
•    Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise and support.
•    Conduct regular equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate and reliable results.
•    Stay updated with the latest advancements in PAUT technology and industry best practices.
•    Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
•    Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
•    Train and mentor junior technicians in PAUT techniques and best practices.
•    Participate in project planning and review meetings to provide insights on quality assurance.
•    Ensure all testing is conducted in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
•    Coordinate with third-party inspectors and auditors as required.
•    Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and equipment calibration.

Qualifications

Required 
•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Ability to pass a pre-employment PAUT practical test. 
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in NDE, of which 3 experience years are in PAUT.
•    Evidence of current or prior Level II PAUT certification.
•    Strong knowledge of PAUT principles, techniques, and equipment.
•    Experience in the oil and gas, industrial, or large-scale power projects is highly desirable.
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
•    Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•    Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Additional certifications in other non-destructive testing methods (e.g., UT, RT, MT, PT, VT, CWI).
•    National / internationally recognized certification in UT e.g. ISO-9712 / PNC. 
•    Experience with advanced PAUT techniques and equipment.
•    Experience in conducting audits and inspections.
•    Knowledge of quality management systems and processes.
