Position Overview
The Kiewit Technology Group IT manager will have responsibilities for the support of end users and infrastructure for the Kiewit Offshore Services district. They will work closely with other Kiewit Technology groups, Kiewit districts, and third-party vendors to ensure the necessary capabilities exist within the technology offering. This role will have a strong focus on the management of day-to-day end user support work, as well as a broad knowledge base related to troubleshooting for Windows PC’s, along with basic network and server troubleshooting.

This position will be based out of our Kiewit office at 2440 Kiewit Rd, Ingleside, TX 78362
Responsibilities
• Lead a small team of desktop technicians supporting users inside and outside of a typical office environment.
• Negotiate, track and control spending on PC related items ensuring adherence to standards
• Actively participate in and manage the work and priorities required to support the business
• Engage with the district and other business partners to ensure the proper solutions are applied to solve technical challenges.
• Support customer PC related issues while leveraging Tier 2 and Tier 3 support groups.
• Maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures.
• Identify, isolate, and engage other internal groups to ensure the long term health and stability of platforms and processes under your control.
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships for third party technology suppliers
• Represent the Kiewit Technology Group as a lead resource on corporate project teams and advisory boards.
• Make timely decisions with well-developed judgment, while considering alternatives, risks, and other critical decision factors.
• Engage in appropriate escalation management activities.
• Work with IT vendors/hosting partners as needed to gain issue resolution and ensure performance of 3rd party solutions.
• Pro-actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and department and act upon findings to initiate improvements, presenting ideas in a persuasive way to gain support.
• Maintain professional knowledge and skills through proactive self-study of relevant technologies and processes.
• Train peers and subordinates to increase the skillset of the team as a whole.
Qualifications
• Highly motivated, self-starting and self-directed with a strong sense of ownership
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in an information technology role.
• Experience managing vendor and third-party provider relationships.
• Experience leading a small team of individuals in a fast-paced and high expectations role.
• Strong understanding of emerging technologies, standards and best practices.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and as a part of multiple teams.
• Ability to manage a variety of technically challenging tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to solve unique problems with creative solutions.
• Must be able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work efficiently.
• Demonstrated initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while still maintaining high quality standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to present information both to technical and non-technical customers/stakeholders, in appropriate media and form.
• Ability to work off-hours when required and be part of an on-call rotation.
• Bachelor's degree in computer related field is preferred
