Position Overview

As a Sr. Quality Manager, you will take the leadership role in managing district or mega project quality programs with minimal corporate supervision.  Candidates will be expected to provide primary technical support to all district and project personnel as well as managing the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan aligned with corporate quality standards and implements processes to prevent quality issues. This position requires the incumbent to develop thorough knowledge of the project scope and schedule as they apply to quality assurance and quality control. 

District Overview

Kiewit’s Quality Group is a shared service that maintains and executes quality standards on projects across the company. Our principal quality objectives are to meet or exceed clients’ expectations and to eliminate rework by performing our work “right the first time.” We monitor our performance against these objectives and require continual improvement. 

Location

This position will be located on site at one of our project locations throughout the TX and Louisiana market.  In the future you could be asked to support projects outside of the gulf coast.  Kiewit will help supplement travel and living costs while on project sites. 

Responsibilities

•    Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with project management, project team, authorized inspectors and engineer or client as required.
•    Coordinate quality control staffing needs on project and assign qualified personnel.
•    Assist project team in setting up the quality site specific plans, hold points and preparing for project kick-off and pre-job planning meetings. Assist in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s), checklists, and other documentation for the project.
•    Support project team in the development and implementation of project quality plans and supplemental procedures as needed.
•    Facilitate resolution of issues by working with Project Manager.
•    Monitor and report to district any quality incident.
•    Oversee code compliance for work.
•    Assist in coordinating authorized inspection services to the project.
•    Research and answer technical questions; assist in the interpretation of construction codes and standards.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, welding, civil engineering or construction management/engineering is preferred
•    At least ten years’ experience developing and implementing construction quality management programs in the heavy industrial, Power, OGC, or Water markets.
•    Certifications from AWS, CWB, API, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, etc. are advantageous.
•    Must be able to travel and work on site at project locations for extended periods of time. 
•    Exceptional math, computer, verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
•    Effective organizational and time management skills
•    Effective analytical and problem solving skills
•    Ability to work independently or as part of a team
•    Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
