Position Overview

The Smart Materials Administrator will play a critical role in the implementation, management, and optimization of Smart Materials (SmartPlant Materials) with a focus on the Engineering & Procurement Interface (E&PI) or Materials Supply Chain Management (MSCM) modules. In this position, you will provide system expertise, training, and support to maximize the effectiveness of these modules, ensuring efficient project execution and materials management.

We are offering a remote option for this position if you do not reside near a Kiewit office hub location. 

Responsibilities

System Administration and Support:


•Serve as the system expert for Smart Materials, with specialized knowledge in either the E&PI or MSCM module.
•Configure and maintain the Smart Materials system, ensuring optimal performance and integration with project and procurement workflows.
•Provide day-to-day technical and functional support for users, troubleshooting issues and working with KTG teammates or software vendors to resolve system-related problems.


Training and User Support:
•Develop and deliver training programs tailored to the E&PI or MSCM modules, ensuring users understand how to use the system efficiently.
•Create and maintain user guides, reference materials, and FAQs for the E&PI or MSCM modules.
•Provide ongoing support for projects, helping users enhance their skills and ensuring project success.


Process Optimization:
•Collaborate with project teams, procurement specialists, and engineers to identify opportunities for process improvement in the E&PI or MSCM workflows.
•Ensure the implementation of best practices within the module to enhance efficiency and reduce errors in materials management and procurement processes.
•Assist in refining and standardizing workflows to align with company policies and project-specific requirements.


Data Management and Reporting:
•Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in the Smart Materials system, focusing on the E&PI or MSCM modules.
•Generate and maintain reports, KPIs, and dashboards to provide insights into project progress, materials availability, and procurement status.
•Support procurement and project management teams with data analysis and reporting to facilitate decision-making.


Project Execution and Collaboration:
•Work closely with engineering and procurement teams to ensure that the E&PI or MSCM modules are fully integrated into the broader project execution framework.
•Support cross-functional collaboration between procurement, engineering, and construction to ensure seamless data flow and communication within the modules.
•Liaise with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure that customizations or enhancements align with project goals and user needs.

Qualifications

•5+ years of experience working with Smart Materials (SmartPlant Materials), with in-depth knowledge of either the E&PI (Engineering & Procurement Interface) or MSCM (Materials Supply Chain Management) module.
•Strong background in project execution, procurement, or materials management, ideally within the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) industry.
•Demonstrated proficiency in Smart Materials/SmartPlant Materials (MSCM or E&PI module as a minimum).
•Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
•Strong communication skills, capable of delivering effective training and support to users at all levels.
•Detail-oriented, with a focus on data accuracy and process optimization.
•Strong understanding of procurement, materials management, and construction workflows.
•A moderate to high level of knowledge of Smart Reference Data is a plus.
•High level of knowledge and understanding with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
•A good understanding or demonstration of skillset with Structured Query Language (SQL) (or PL/SQL) would be considered a distinct advantage.
•Proficiency in data analysis and the use of reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI or similar software would be a significant plus. 
•Experience with integration between Smart Materials and other systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Primavera P6 would be a distinct advantage.
•Knowledge of international standards such as ISO or CFIHOS related to materials management a plus.

Base Compensation: $115k - $155k 

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
