Position Overview
Kiewit OGC Engineering is seeking an Entry Level Piping Drafter. We are looking for ideal candidates to grow the
Kiewit team by helping establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools while also utilizing these
standards and tools to contribute to project success. Candidates will be familiar with current drawing and technical
tools, programs, and software with an understanding of design documentation creation and layouts. Candidates
shall be capable of exhibiting flexibility in work assignments while maintaining a growth mindset and continuing to
develop in their technical and professional career.

expertise focused on the EPC delivery model for dynamic process facilities. We offer a variety of engineering services,
including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management
and plant services. Our engineering teams bring OGC facilities to life across North America in the following areas:
- Gas-fired generation
- LNG facilities
- Environmental retrofits
- Renewables and new technology
- Refinery Facilities
- Petrochemical Facilities
Location
This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX. Opportunities for flexible work are available.
Responsibilities
• Performs non-routine assignments of limited scope on time and on budget.
• Expand knowledge through training and work experience.
• Learn and utilize codes and standards to complete assignments.
• Perform tasks according to company procedure industry codes and regulations while learning. Seeks out help
of others but tries to apply information he receives to become a functional team member.
• Proactive about learning new information and skills.
• Basic understanding of piping layouts and field drawings
Qualifications
- Associate degree, Design Technical degree, or High School diploma + 2 years’ experience as a minimum.
- Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing. Present ideas clearly and in professional manner.
- Willing and able to complete an On-Site/Field rotation in first 3 years of employment.
- Develops cooperative working relationships and open communication within and across groups, to work towards solutions that benefit all involved parties. Seeks expertise, advice and perspectives from a variety of sources.
- Consults with senior team members to receive direction for internal customers.
- Basic AutoCAD skills and can pick up marks.
- Able to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines under supervision.
- Microsoft Teams
- Bluebeam or at least working knowledge of PDF's
- Basic understanding of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Basic understanding of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs)
- Legends & symbols
- Assist with creating and maintaining other 2D drawings
- Basic AutoCAD skills: external reference files, model space, paper space, printing to PDF, blocks, and tool palettes.
