District Overview

Location

With home offices in Houston and The Woodlands, Texas, we build various project sites across North America.  One of the many things that makes Kiewit’s culture unique is that we relocate where the work is, which exposes your career to abundant opportunities and locations. Examples of recent and current project sites have been throughout the United States Gulf Coast, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Montana, California, Alberta (Canada), and Veracruz (Mexico). 

Responsibilities

•    Field Operations: Interpret drawings/specifications/3D models for field crews and craft, prepare work plans and work packages, audit operations for safety compliance, order and schedule material deliveries, track installation progress, perform quality inspections and submit test records  

•    Office Engineering: Maintain project controls including client report development and schedule updates, generate change orders reviewed by project management, supervise subcontractor operations, support site logistics, coordinate design and procurement interface 

•    Estimating: Review and analyze data relative to the project, perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, complete plans and specification reviews for projects, assist with the preparation of a bid  

Qualifications

   Ability to travel and frequently relocate as needed  

•    Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related degree  

•    Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt  

•    Ability to freely access all points of a construction site across diverse climates and environments   

•    Highly motivated with demonstrated leadership skills, a passion for excellence, and taking initiative  

•    Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time  

•    Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity  

•    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills  

•    Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives  

•    Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively  

•    Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems in a constantly changing environment  

•    Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail 

•    Industrial/heavy civil construction project experience is preferred
