District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and design best practices for all projects that we support.

Location
New York City, Woodcliff NJ, Houston, New Orleans, Bellevue or at our Denver location with relocation provided for these locations. Other Kiewit major HUB location maybe considered based on individual's background and experience.
Responsibilities
- Foster the expansion and advancement of the marine coastal and resiliency engineering business. Take charge of shaping the marine engineering team’s vision, identifying key priorities, and ensuring alignment with operational objectives
- Develop a working relationship with Kiewit’s Marine construction divisions
- Build discipline-specific strategies and objectives for talent management, technology, quality management and risk management.
- Work to fully comprehend the business, industry and changing marketplace the organization resides in; align discipline personnel to meet changing business requirements.
- Oversee department performance management process and development programs; encourage formal and informal learning events and experiences.
- Effectively manage underperforming employees.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology.
- Seek ways to improve customer satisfaction, the quality of the work product, and operating efficiencies.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate operating risks inherent in the business that could materially impact the company’s reputation and/or operating results.
- Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and a means to manage KPI tracking and reporting.
- Oversee or lead business plan initiatives and collaborate with other leaders to align resources to accomplish objectives.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices and finds practical applications.
- Provide professional advice to department personnel, project teams, or individual contributors.
- Develop and execute a communications plan, ensuring department members are informed of strategy, shared goals, policies, practices and programs.
- Act as the Design Manager or Marine Discipline Lead for alternative delivery projects with a marine engineering component.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Coastal, Civil, and/or Ocean Engineering or related field.
- PE license or equivalent required.
- At least 12+ years of engineering design experience related to urban-focused flood protection and resiliency projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex coastal and waterfront engineering projects, ranging from contract values of $10M+.
- Current or recent experience in leading and managing an engineering team of five or more. Additionally, demonstrated expertise in overseeing and guiding a team of engineers and designers, with a successful track record of building cohesive teams at various organizational levels.
- Promote business growth by enhancing service offerings for marine coastal resiliency within our existing client base.
- Experience in working on teams of multidisciplinary, urban-focused flood protection and resiliency projects.
- Experience designing and delivering projects that have marine or coastal components.
- Experience with coastal engineering design in urban settings such as shoreline protection, waterfront parks, shoreline restoration, flood control, navigation facilities, bulkheads, dredging, and recreational boating facilities is a plus.
- Ability to manage projects and progress ideas to execution in a complex environment.
- Good negotiation, presentation, and persuasion skills. Experienced in communicating ideas, winning approval, and reaching resolutions with a variety of audiences.
- Strong analytical ability along with the capacity to interpret data and make recommendations.
- Comfortable with change and ambiguity; adaptable, collaborative and a systems thinker
- Ability to manage and control quality, schedule, and budget performance of engineering teams.
- Flexibility to frequent travel.

Base Compensation: $220,000 - $260,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
