Position Overview
We are looking to hire an experienced Environmental Manager in our Environmental Department for Kiewit Power Constructors. This position is responsible for providing a central resource to operational groups for environmental support for our power project in the area. Key responsibility for managing environmental programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to chemical management, hazardous waste, storm water, air compliance, wastewater and emergency response.
Location
Based out of Homer City, PA, this role will support our power plant project in the area. This is an onsite position.
Responsibilities
• Review Project environmental programs to ensure compliance with work in a variety of states
• Lead in the implementation of environmental practices
• Assist with the environmental compliance audit program for projects/fixed facilities in the Pacific Northwest.
• Identify, assess and reduce environmental risks to the company
• Keep abreast of US environmental legislation and regulations
• Conduct environmental training relating to federal requirements
• Develop and maintain industry awareness through trade associations
• Facilitate team information with the Districts.
• Develops environmental awareness of the project personnel through development and implementation of standardized procedures with emphasis on employee training.
Qualifications
• 10+ years' environmental regulatory experience managing and implementing environmental programs
• Undergraduate degree in an environmental science or related field
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong public speaking skills
• Environmental experience in policies and procedures, regulatory affairs, permitting, due diligence, and auditing
• Strong training and management expertise
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Act as a technical expert
• Ability to interact effectively with consultants and governmental agencies
• Ability to work independently and with teams
• Solve technical problems and develop solutions to meet environmental requirements
