Position Overview
The Mobile Batch Plant Superintendent oversees the daily operations of a mobile concrete batch plant, ensuring efficient and safe production of high-quality concrete. This role involves managing plant staff, coordinating with project teams, and maintaining safety and environmental regulations compliance.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading the operations of the mobile batch plant, contributing to the successful completion of various infrastructure projects in the region.
District Overview
Kiewit's Southeast District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations or tunnels. Although most of our work is regionally based in the southeast region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the east coast. Responsibilities
- Oversee Plant Operations: Manage the setup, operation, and dismantling of mobile batch plant
- Production Management: Ensure concrete production meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Staff Supervision: Lead and supervise plant staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain quality control processes to ensure the consistency and quality of concrete.
- Maintenance Coordination: To minimize downtime, schedule and oversee plant equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Inventory Management: Manage raw materials inventory and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and safety activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to avoid production delays.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in concrete production or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in using batching software and other relevant tools.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in concrete production and safety management are a plus.
