As a Traffic Control Manager (MOT Superintendent), you will be an integral part of delivering large-scale heavy civil and transportation projects, ensuring the seamless coordination of traffic management operations on some of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the country. You will lead traffic control planning, regulatory compliance, and safety management for projects that include major highway expansions, large-scale bridge construction, and complex utility installations. This role demands strategic leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to work alongside top-tier engineers, construction managers, and regulatory officials to maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and innovation. Location
The South-Central home office is situated in the Westlake, TX, ( area of Fort Worth, near Dallas). All roles are project-based and will require mobility for the duration of assignments within the South-Central District, including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The position will start on a night shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all traffic control operations on large-scale heavy civil and transportation projects, ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement strategic traffic control plans, working in close coordination with project engineers, DOT agencies, and municipal authorities to support major highway, bridge, and utility projects.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise traffic control teams, ensuring excellence in execution and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Kiewit leadership, regulatory agencies, and law enforcement, ensuring seamless coordination of traffic management activities.
- Proactively assess and enhance traffic control measures to minimize project disruptions and optimize traffic flow.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to mitigate potential compliance issues before they impact project timelines.
- Integrate traffic control with broader project logistics, scheduling, and workforce management, ensuring seamless execution in fast-paced environments.
- Drive training and development initiatives to enhance the expertise of traffic control professionals working on large-scale projects.
- Manage labor, equipment, and material resources to optimize traffic control operations on high-impact construction projects.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in traffic control management or supervision within large-scale heavy civil and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Prior experience as a Field Engineer in transportation infrastructure, combined with management experience, is highly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of traffic control regulations, MUTCD guidelines, and jurisdictional requirements on large-scale projects.
- Proven track record in managing traffic control on major roadway, bridge, and utility projects with complex logistics and coordination challenges.
- Advanced expertise in construction safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills to effectively manage and develop teams on large-scale projects.
- Ability to collaborate with high-level project managers, regulatory agencies, and government authorities.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to adapt to dynamic project environments.
- Highly organized, with exceptional time management skills and an ability to coordinate multiple high-stakes traffic control operations simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a focus on team collaboration and public safety.
