Position Overview

As a Project Finance Analyst for Kiewit, you will be a key player in enhancing financial performance through in-depth analysis of financial results, forecasts, variances, and trends. Your role will involve developing robust financial models to support valuation, planning, and forecasting, enabling you to provide strategic recommendations to project leadership. You will also play a vital part in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes, collaborating closely with various project and management teams to drive financial success. 

District Overview

Kiewit's Southeast District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations or tunnels.  Although most of our work is regionally based in the southeast region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the east coast. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry instead of design. 

Location

This exciting role will be stationed at one of our southeast district office locations, potentially requiring relocation and up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities

•    Creates, reviews, and updates various project reports and makes appropriate corrections to ensure accurate reporting for management.
•    Coordinate with project teams to assess reporting and identify risks to create accurate forecasts.
•    Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
•    Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
•    Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, providing trends and forecasts, explaining processes/techniques, and recommending actions.
•    Improves financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.
•    Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
•    Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
•    Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
•    Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications.
•    Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
•    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
•    3 years of experience in financial reporting and/or data analysis, collaborating with different company teams/personnel of varying levels.
•    Construction industry experience is preferred.
•    Ability to travel and/or relocate to project sites as needed
•    Knowledge of complex ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) to prepare financial reports and forecasts.
•    Knowledge utilizing data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to present complex financial analyses.
•    Knowledge utilizing the Microsoft Office 365 software suite to prepare and/or supplement financial reporting, forecasts, and analyses.
•    The ability to collaborate with various different project teams and personnel to gather data and create reports.
•    Ability to build strong relationships with operations leaders and key project stakeholders. 
•    The ability to work successfully both independently and on a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
