Position Overview

As a Business Administrative Assistant for our Southeast District you will support the business on several different admnistrative tasks including receptionist duties, help with payroll, accounts payable, and a variety of other office administrative tasks. This ia role that offers a wide variety of work while suppporting and working with a great team.

District Overview

Kiewit's Southeast District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations or tunnels.  Although most of our work is regionally based in the southeast region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the east coast. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.


This position will be based Sunrise, Florida


Provide support to the Business Manager and entire job team at their direction, to support their jobs.  Tasks will include supporting:

  • Provide administrative support and assist with projects or back-up support to the team
  • Office supplies ordering and general office management
  • Receptionist duties and distributing mail
  • The weekly payroll process, HR process workflow, and the systems used to properly hire, transfer, terminate, and pay all employees
  • Weekly labor productivity reports and other reports used by the project teams.
  • Accounts payable, including interaction with Kiewit Business Services to ensure timely payment


  • 0 - 5 years of business experience
  • High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor’s degree in business field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key excel functions is preferred. 
  • Effective communication (both oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passionate for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Working Conditions

Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously manage a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30 pounds.
