Position Overview
The Finance Coordinator is an integral role focused on supporting the financial operations and project accounting functions. Each project at Kiewit operates like a small business, and the Finance Coordinator plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial management and reporting. This position is responsible for essential tasks such as:
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and analyze cash flow to ensure timely payments and financial stability.
- Risk and Opportunity Tracking: Identify and track financial risks and opportunities to support decision-making.
- Financial Analysis: Provide insights through cost analysis, variance reporting, and return-on-investment evaluations.
- Accounting Support: Maintain accurate records of cost and revenue components, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontract expenses.
The Finance Coordinator will develop expertise in project financial processes and collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial activities.
District Overview
Kiewit’s Northern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in various types of work in the heavy civil, power, transportation, and water resource markets. Although most of our work is regionally based in Northern California, we also pursue various projects across the west coast. Our Northern California district has been extremely successful and have over $600 million dollars of work and plan to grow this region by $200 million in 2026. Location
This position is based on site in Fairfield, California full time.
Responsibilities
Providing day-to-day support with general administrative functions and team management needs (e.g., meeting coordination, team-building efforts, phone and email communication)
• Collaborating with and supporting team members, working on key projects and initiatives
• Providing basic finance support for key company branding and marketing materials and events; helping organize and support key online media and video projects
• Helping the team with messaging, writing, editing, researching and related support for external and internal communications, as needed
• Managing key expense reports, invoicing and purchasing card transactions
• Tracking budgets and preparing related reports for team and company use
• Managing and scheduling inter-group and cross-company meetings involving department staff
Qualifications
A bachelor's or associate’s degree related to the role strongly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Solid skills with peripheral technology such as printers, digital cameras, scanners and A/V equipment
• Previous track record of successfully meeting deadlines and project expectations
• Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, as needed
• Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidence of important, sensitive information and materials
• Enthusiastic team player with an interest in helping the team stay connected and working effectively together

Base Compensation: $25/hr - $31/hr
