Position Overview

The Project HR Specialist II position is responsible for delivering HR functions and actions aligning with business objectives at large project field locations. This role will work as a part of the on-site project HR team delivering human resource-related support to the Project team, as well as acting as employee champion, and change agent. You will play a crucial part of executing and improving the  “Project HR” delivery model,  used throughout the entire Kiewit organization. This position  maintains an effective level of business literacy about the Project's schedule of completion, key performance indices, current objectives, its culture and its competition.

This position is based on a project in Epes, AL.

Responsibilities

Craft Employee Related Functions 

  • Utilizing data to determine future craft needs 
  • Preparing requisitions for craft hiring
  • Working closely with off-site Craft Recruiting team
  • Entering requisitions into Success Factors
  • Scheduling craft orientation
  • Conducting craft orientation – completion of I-9’s and new hire package
  • Benefits Enrollment
  • Processing hire actions in SAP with Kiewit Business Services (KBS)
  • Review and Tracking of Craft Performance Development
  • Processing promotions and pay increases with KBS
  • Submitting required documentation paperwork
  • Working closely with jobsite supervision ensuring paperwork is up to date and compliant.
  • Maintaining project wide data base information
  • Working closely with jobsite supervision on processing separation
  • Uploading required documentation to record keeping 

    
Project Training Related Functions

  • Maintaining project rosters
  • Maintaining project training records and databases
  • Development and implementation of training
  • Coordinating trainings across the Project with multiple groups
  • Creating and maintaining project-wide training calendar
  • Implementation of Craft training programs
  • Working closely with Project Operations to determine training needs
  • Maintaining project rotation plans 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • 3-5 years related project HR experience required
  • Ability to communicate and influence individuals and groups to gain buy-in and acceptance of new ideas and approaches
  • Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships
  • Ability to travel overnight throughout the US
  • Proficient at the following software programs
  • MS Excel, Word - Intermediate formula knowledge to compare/review different sets of data, pivot tables, formatting
  • MS Teams
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Able to work onsite in LA required
