Position Overview
As a member of the Project Management team you will be take a lead role for the successful development, implementation and management of field quality inspection and test plans, procedures and documentation.
You will select and schedule qualified personnel to perform the inspections and tests and assure these functions are properly documented.

Responsabilities
● Manage implementation and effectiveness of the project Inspection and Test Plan through periodic reviews, document findings and implement corrective/preventive actions
● Ensure that tests are performed, received and interpreted timely so that impacts due to failure are minimized
● Examine, test and inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed
● Report and document Non-Conformances when they occur.  Assist in ensuring rework is tracked and reported
● Develop complete understanding of contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
● Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
● Provide training on inspection and testing techniques for all project personnel.  Participate in Corporate and District Training initiatives and programs as requested
● Ensure that welder certifications and status logs are maintained current and submitted as required
● Manage/liaison with third party testing and Authorized Inspection agencies. Review and approve all third party test results for compliance with project requirements when required
● Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing and through periodic meetings) with, project management teams, and the client
● Listen to other employee’s and supervisor's suggestions, complaints, problems, safety concerns and recommendations, evaluate each and then devise and implement a plan of action based on that evaluation
● Hire, train, mentor and supervise project quality inspection personnel developing future quality leaders

Qualifications
● Degree in Engineering, Science or similar with at least 10 years’ experience in a related construction field (with at least 5 of these years in a quality manager position)
● Broad working knowledge of the trades, disciplines and associated special processes, inspection and testing techniques
● Working knowledge of the related construction industry codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements
● Capacity to read and understand plans and specifications and visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions
● Strong leadership and managerial skills
● Effective written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
● Must be a self-starter and highly motivated with the desire to do what it takes to get the job done
● Strong organization/time management skills
● Ability to travel and relocate as required
