As the Quality Inspector you will report to the Project Quality Manager and be primarily in the field/shop. You will be responsible for witnessing and performing quality control inspections and test and for providing required documentation for the assigned areas or disciplines on a project

Your key duties and responsibilities include:
• Support the Quality Manager in the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan
• Develop complete understanding of contract plans, specifications, applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
• Examine, test and inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed
• Be involved in and provide Quality input to task planning
• Plan and perform inspections and test at the correct time to coordinate with the schedule and minimize potential impacts due to failures. Facilitate and champion self-inspection by supervision and craft/trades
• Review/approve (initial/date) all third party test results for compliance with project requirements when required
• When required, develop written plans and procedures for project specific activities to supplement task planning, i.e. pipe line cleaning
• Organize and maintain project quality records and files related to area of responsibility
• Report all Non-Conformance and rework issues to the Project or District Quality Manager. Assist in the documentation and resolution verification as requested
• If assigned as Quality Control Inspector (QCI) for Boiler and Pressure Vessel work, be thoroughly familiar with District’s Quality Control Manual; perform and document all inspections and tests associated with the ASME work on the assigned project and coordinate Pre and PWHT activities
• Promote and maintain effective communications and relations (verbally and in writing and through periodic meetings) with, project management teams, and the engineer/client Team to understand the project scope and schedule and successfully them in any quality matters

Qualifications
• Undergraduate or technical degree in Engineering, Science or similar with at least 2 years’ experience in a related construction field (with at least one of these years in a quality position)
Or An associate degree in engineering technology or science plus three years of experience in related construction field (at least two of these years in Quality position)
  OR a high school graduate or equivalent GED with 5 years’ experience in the construction field (at least three of these years in a Quality position)
• Must be a certified CWB Level 2 Inspector
• Broad working knowledge of the trades, disciplines and associated special processes, inspection and testing techniques
• Working knowledge of the related construction industry codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements (ACI, AWS, ASME, NEC, etc.)
• Ability to facilitate team information and be professional
• Strong mathematical abilities and able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately
• Capacity to read and understand plans and specifications and visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Must be a self-starter and highly motivated with the desire to do what it takes to get the job done
• Strong organization/time management skills
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.
