Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Materials Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials management, inventory control, and procurement, with a focus on data processing and software interaction. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient management of materials from procurement to delivery, supporting various industrial projects.
District Overview
Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor that work on projects that involve construction of oil & gas facilities such as oil sands processing, including steam–assisted gravity drainage facilities, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (ex. LNG, LPG, etc.), and major mine developments. We also have a Modular Yard facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering branch is a leading-edge division that offers innovative engineering services for our current projects and new pursuits in Canada. Our design services group are based in Calgary and Houston offering expertise in process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines.
Location
This is an office-based role either in Calgary, AB, or Edmonton, AB.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Materials Planning and Management: Accurately determine material requirements, provide necessary information, and follow up on the delivery of materials. Assign materials to work packages, manage surplus, and ensure materials are correctly located and available for scheduled construction activities.
- Software Interaction: Utilize material management software to track purchase orders, verify inventory status, and associate materials with field installation packages and the project schedule.
- Data Processing: Understand and process data related to material requirements, schedules, and inventory management.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records, manage surplus materials, and ensure materials are available for upcoming projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure materials are delivered on time and meet project requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or procurement, preferably in industrial projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in material management software (Site Sense, Jovix, SAP, etc.) and strong computer skills.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions regarding material requirements and inventory management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
