Position Overview:
At Kiewit, one of our guiding principles on every projects and in every office is, “Nobody Gets Hurt” and we’re currently looking for a Survey Rodman. The Survey Rodman is an entry level survey position where you will be trained on the fundamentals of survey.

Kiewit Central District specializes in heavy civil, transportation projects and self performs much of the work done, so be ready to get on a project and get your hands dirty! We self-perform work such as mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry and not design. 

This role will support the Central 70 project in Denver, CO. 

You will go through a training period where you will learn to operate, troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain equipment. The Survey Rodman is not limited to learning and developing an understanding of the following:

•    Survey procedures and techniques for boundary, construction, topographical, and civil surveys utilizing GPS, conventional total station, and leveling
•    Keeping proper field notes and sketches for all work performed
•    Operation of Trimble GPS receivers, TSC3 Data Collector, Trimble total stations, levels, and tape measures.
•    Reading and understanding plans, maps, plats and other drawings, as well as, deeds, right-of-way, easements, and other legal documents
•    Note reduction and data processing for the above-mentioned surveys, trigonometry, geometry, and mathematics used in surveying.
•    Recognize, analyze, evaluate, and correct errors and mistakes.
•    Follow Safety Regulations as implemented through corporate, departmental and/or client safety policies, directives and programs. As well, ensure all activities are following all other corporate and departmental guidelines, policies and directives.

•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with courses in mathematics and/or surveying preferred
•    Some experience is preferred, but not required
•    Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office
•    Demonstrates willingness to learn required skills; adapts to new technology; uses technology to increase productivity; keeps technical skills up to date
•    Strong communication and math skills required
•    Ability to work as a team member
•    Ability to lift up to 40lbs unassisted
•    Ability to perform repetitive motions without issue (e.g. hammering stakes into the ground)
•    Valid Driver’s License, and clean driving record
•    Successful passing of drug & alcohol test
•    Successful passing of a criminal background check
