Kiewit Data Services is seeking a Sr. Analytics Engineer to advance our analytical capabilities. We are looking for someone with 5+ years' work experience performing ETL Data Wrangling activities in a professional setting with a Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field. 

As the Sr. Analytics Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to build, manage, and re-architect the analytics layer of our data environment. You will interact with business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT resources, working to standardize our data and make this data more easily accessible. You will work closely with both technology teams and the business to create robust, efficient data-driven solutions to business problems, directly adding value to the organization.

This position is based out of our Kiewit office at 12510 Belford Avenue in Englewood, CO. 


Build and Maintain Analytics Data Layer – Your primary responsibility will be to empower our data analytics team by building a scalable and accessible analytics data layer. You will leverage your experience with Alteryx or similar data prep tools to create valuable, automated and analysis-ready data sources. You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the core applications we leverage to collect data. You will work with stakeholders and key members of our product team to understand what data we capture today, and utilize your data preparation knowledge to surface well-curated datasets to our data analysts.

•    Data Integrity, Governance and Documentation – You will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of data integrity. You will also document your processes and work with various members of data management and governance teams to create data standards within Kiewit Data Services.
•    Data Collection and Preparation – In order to create the necessary analytics layer, you will need to build and manage various ETL processes to ensure our data is accurately updated in a timely and efficient manner. 
•    Team Support and Mentorship – As a data prep wizard with Alteryx, you will play a very critical role within our analytics team. You will work closely with your team members to improve the overall technical skillset of the team, ultimately creating greater data-wrangling self-sufficiency amongst your peers.
•    Data Analysis and Solution Delivery – While your core responsibility is the analytics data layer and delivering data-driven analytical solutions, you will also be responsible for producing ad-hoc reporting for senior management, aiding in analysis, or building advanced visualizations.

•    5+  years’ work experience with Enterprise-level data performing data wrangling, modeling tasks using Alteryx-based application development etc.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics or related degree, or equivalent work experience 
•    Experience building processes to support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
•    Proven understanding of and experience with enterprise-level analytics and data-driven solutions resulting in delivery of business value.
•    Advanced experience with Alteryx or similar data-prep/ETL tool knowledge
•    Advanced experience with Data Visualization tools and techniques (Tableau, Power BI)
•    Intermediate SQL skillset (MS SQL Server)
