Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven Compensation Analyst to join our Compensation and Benefits Center of Excellence team to support our North America Operations (US, Canada, Mexico) based in one of our Kiewit offices.  (This is not a remote work opportunity).  Kiewit continues to thrive and grow, with 2020, 2021 revenues topping over $12Billion and we continue to win mega projects across North America at $500M and over.  Our Building construction, Oil and Gas, Power and Transportation groups are booming and with that business growth, comes employment expansion and and exciting compensation related projects. With plans to hire over 3000 people this year, you will be an important part of our growth, supporting recruiters and Managers to ensure we are offering competitive salaries. This is a great opportunity for someone with 4+ years compensation experience well versed in compensation all areas of compensation analysis eager to grow their career and depth of knowledge in this critical area of our business. Successful candidates for this role will have prior experience in designing and administering base pay and incentive pay programs, completing salary surveys, and support mobility pay practices. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, be proactive and diligent and enjoy performing in a fast paced and innovative environment. 

District Overview

Our Compensation team is part of our HR Operations organization, supporting all of our Kiewit markets and districts.  In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence.  Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.


This position can be based out of one of our major Kiewit Office locations:  Omaha Nebraska, Denver Colorado, Lenexa Kansas, Houston Texas or our new West Lake Texas office.    


  • Support Management teams, Human resources business partners and Recruiters on all compensation matters, which could including recommendation regarding base salary and incentive/bonus compensation for both internal transfers/promotions, and external hires.  
  • Facilitate and support year end review process, oversee compensation review cycles including merit, incentive programs as well as process and systems
  • Collaborate with Management and Human Resources Business Partners on job descriptions, create and approve formal job descriptions
  • Ensure our compensation programs comply state and federal regulations.  
  • Research and analyze data to determine appropriate salary levels and job titles 
  • Conduct/ and participates in salary surveys, interprets salary data, and performs detailed analysis 
  • Assist in developing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures 
  • Conduct job analyses, impact analyses, data modeling and costing of compensation program changes
  • Provide compensation support to business, recruitment team and shared service units 
  • Assist in audit support 
  • Monitor and support mobility pay program 
  • Perform compensation related projects as required


  • 4+ years’ experience in compensation field, performing functions as outlined above
  • Advanced to expert level knowledge in Excel (pivot tables, macros, formulas), and or other data analysis tools
  • Experience supporting annual compensation review process
  • International experience a plus (specifically Canada and or Mexico)
  • Accounting or finance classes or experience a plus
  • SAP and SuccessFactors compensation modules experience a plus
  • Ability to work with senior level leaders, business unit HR Managers, shared services compensation managers, and information technology representatives
