Position Overview

As a Piping Superintendent, you will be exposed to a variety of field activities in order to develop your understanding of construction supervision. During your first few years you can expect to spend time learning and working on shop drawings, submittals, schedules, craft supervision, and project documentation. While learning these things you will have the opportunity to travel the country building complex projects that make a profound impact on communities. District Overview

Kiewit’s Central District is one of our largest infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, structural concrete/bridge, water/wastewater, and transportation projects. We self-perform work such as mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more - so be ready to get your hands dirty! While headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the majority of our work is concentrated in the Central and South-Central regions of the United States. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry rather than design.

Location

Located in Denver, CO, our projects span the Central region of the United States, including states such as Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Kansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive supervisory direction to craft workers through general foremen and foremen, ensuring effective management of productivity, safety, quality, and adherence to schedules.
• Act as a liaison between field engineering and craft, guaranteeing compliance with construction drawings and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow superintendents and subcontractors, ensuring seamless communication and project execution with Kiewit staff and leadership.
• Address and resolve employee conflicts and grievances, notifying project and corporate management as necessary.
• Assist in strategic schedule planning and resource allocation, determining craft labor levels and material requirements for optimal project performance.
• Uphold and enforce project rules and safety protocols consistently, ensuring compliance with workplace standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity managing piping operations.
• Demonstrated experience in a heavy civil construction environment is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines, including union regulations, safety protocols, scheduling, cost control, and engineering documentation.
• Proven ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance effectively, fostering a culture of excellence.
• A strong motivation for excellence, coupled with an initiative to go above and beyond expectations.
• A robust work ethic, exhibiting commitment to completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
• A focus on safety, demonstrating the ability to uphold a culture where everyone goes home safe.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
• Excellent organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and time management capabilities.

Base Compensation: $93,456/yr - $140,185/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
