Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Operations Manager to join our Design Engineering Services (DES) team in Denver, CO. Looking for the ideal candidate to manage systems and production relating to Computer Aided Design and Civil Information Modeling (CIM) systems. District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of our company that offers a variety of services, including, temporary and permanent design services for current projects and new project pursuits in the United States and Canada.  Our design services group offers expertise in structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, and materials disciplines.  Our engineering group is responsible for managing engineering assignments in support of Kiewit’s construction projects in both the United States and Canada.  As part of the engineering group, you will have the opportunity to work with other structural and geotechnical engineers, members of our interdisciplinary engineering team, as well as estimators, schedules and construction experts to provide advice on construction methodology, risk and the design of temporary works. 

Location

This role will be based out of Kiewit’s Englewood, CO (South Denver area) office and typically requires less than 25 percent travel. 

Responsibilities

•     Develops action plans with timelines in order to implement strategy; involves others in the process, incorporating best ideas into the plan and gaining buy-in through effective communication
•     Manage a team of Lead CAD Coordinators who are responsible for initiation and consistency of discipline design production teams, to include third parties 
•     CAD production processes for estimating, design and digital delivery to construction teams and clients
•     Define company and project CAD standards and execution plans
•     CAD customization and standardization to enhance productivity
•     Manage CAD support and training services to resolve company issues 
•     Collaborate with design and engineering software vendor to promote company objectives
•     Mentor and develop CAD team members
•     Manage CAD process across internal and external teams
•     Develop, implement, and maintain CAD quality plans 
•     Maintain documentation of all developed and enhanced workflows
•     Perform weekly coordination calls and periodic presentations regarding CAD related items
•     Coordinate with IT to solve local and project level problems related to CAD deliverables and project technology needs
•     Maintain and support workflows for internal and external design content management

Qualifications

•     10+ years’ experience with corporate and project implementation of CAD applications
•     Experience with the implementation of US DOT or other client specific CAD standards on projects
•     Design production experience with InRoads, MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
•     Working knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD for design production
•     Experience with Civil Information Modeling
•     Experience with Design Content Management via Bentley ProjectWise
•     Experience with front end digital coordination efforts, ensuring all discipline design and production teams are enabled and in compliance with project requirements
•     Experience with the definition, documentation and implementation of CAD standards and execution plans
•     Experience in collaborating with or managing enterprise level information management teams
•     Experience managing and maintaining company CAD support and training services
•     Experience with a multi-format CAD production environment and corresponding interoperability challenges
•     Ability to communicate, train, effect change and implement improvements
•     Strong teamwork, leadership and motivational capabilities
•     Excellent understanding of engineering work processes
•     Self-motivated and results focused, with the ability to work with minimal, remote supervision 
•     Good written and oral communication, particularly English to facilitate working with teams located all over North America
•     A problem solving, conceptual thinker and able to work with complex systems
•     Associates degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology or similar program experience
