Position Overview

We are seeking skilled Superintendents, to support large scale Industrial Building Construction projects, for the US, with the first project located in the El Paso Texas area.  As a Superintendent for our Kiewit Building group, you will provide construction management, subcontractor management, trades management, as well as support preconstruction for our Vertical building market, ensuring subcontractor craft and staff are adhering to our safety and quality programs, and contract requirements.  You will be responsible for the day to day performance of the work completed on the buildings, ensuring that the correct resources are allocated to the work assignments, and will be engaged in tracking the progress on the assigned buildings, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.  We are looking for people committed to the construction industry and have experience working on the General Contractor side.

Kiewit Building Group specializes in constructing office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, science and technology facilities, manufacturing, retail and special-use facilities and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Responsibilities

•     Provide construction oversight, and supervisory direction for the trades and subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, roofing, insulation, etc...) supporting our building projects in the field, managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence.  Ensure work is in compliance with building codes, OSHA and other safety regulations and client specifications. 
•     Collaborate with architects, engineers, field personnel and cross functional teams to coordinate renovations, retrofits, or new buildings, resolving design conflicts and driving seamless integration with our own construction and design teams.  
•     Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.  Communicate scope, schedule and manpower updates for system turnovers; Keep the PM/CM informed of the status.  
•     Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate
•     Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
•     Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company’s non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies

Qualifications

Ability to travel and relocate as needed
Degree plus 5 years experience in construction, on the General Contractor side managing subcontractors performance for Vertical building market, or at least 10 years’ work experience in the construction industry on the GC side, managing subcontractors and trade partners, if no degree. 
Diverse Experience supervising cross trade subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, Insulation, Roofing, HVAC, foundations, framing)
Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents 
Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance as a General Contractor for Vertical Buildings preferably with Industrial buildings and complex commercial buildings.  
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative 
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time, with a demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity 
Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt 
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills  
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives 
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
