Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our team as a Night Shift Occupational Nurse, supporting the health and safety of personnel on job sites. Location
The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and responsible for securing and developing all records, equipment and programs related to occupational health services.
- Provide first aid at site for RFR personnel, evaluate and treat injuries and illnesses in an efficient and professional manner within the scope of practice and consistent with clinical nursing guidelines.
- Provide post injury follow up with personnel
- Maintain treatment log
- Maintain first aid cabinet and first aid room supplies
- Monitor and maintain documentation on any modified or restricted duty cases
- Develop and support early and safe return to normal duty plan
- Provide wellness information to RFR personnel
- Liaise with internal claims management staff, WSIB and medical personnel regarding any claims /case related issues
- Provide basic vision test for personnel as required
Qualifications
- Must be a registered nurse in the province of Ontario
- Basic understanding of regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety
- Detail oriented and have the ability to multitask
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Occupational nursing accreditation or direct construction site experience preferred
- Ability to manage cases with a view to providing site-based treatment whenever possible
- Available to work night shifts

- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
