Position Overview

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant Co-op will be responsible for ongoing HR support of the operations team on DNNP.

District Overview

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is a full-service engineering, project management and construction provider operating across North America. Our experience spans all aspects of the nuclear market from carbon-free, small modular reactors to Department of Energy science, environmental and nuclear security mission capabilities. Location

This project is located on the DNNP site in the Municipality of Clarington, in the Regional Municipality of Durham.

Responsibilities

  • Support with reporting, data accuracy and integrity.
  • Participate in data audits.
  • Support drafting offer letters, onboarding new employees, collecting all new hire paperwork, submission of IT needs, access to software and hardware, and follow up to ensure all needs are in place prior to the employee start date.
  • Prepare new Employee Orientation packages and assist in offboarding employees including communication with payroll and IT
  • Develop regular communications such as new hire announcements, organizational changes, exit announcements, etc.
  • Investigate and answer employee questions associated with pay and benefits and DNNP and Home Company policies and programs
  • Participate in the development of employee engagement activities necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.

Qualifications

 

  • Currently working towards / or recently graduated with a degree or diploma focused on Human Resources.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Experience in an administrative role is an asset.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivation to work in a remote, team environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
