Position Overview
This position is a long-term laboratory position at a fixed location aggregate mine. As a Quality Control Lab Technician, you will provide material testing on aggregates to ensure that our materials meet client specification requirements. Responsibilities include testing several aggregate products at our mine facility.
District Overview
Kiewit's South-Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects where these aggregate materials could be used on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, underground utilities and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to engineering design.
Location
Weatherford, TX - DFW area.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing of aggregate material properties for conformance to requirements
- Develop a thorough understanding of various test procedures for aggregates
- Understanding of TXDOT and local municipality specifications
- Report test results to management and recognize failing materials immediately
- Ability to understand aggregate property relationships
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Self-starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Working knowledge of construction industry
- Certifications issued from HMAC for AGG101, SB101, and SB102 are preferred - training will be provided for the ideal candidate
- Ability to obtain certification(s) within 6 months
- Ability to gain additional certifications to support project testing and inspection
- Capability to work extended construction hours during high seasons
- Ability to work as a team
- Experience in a fast-paced aggregate production laboratory preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
