Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic System Integration Manager in our growing Design Engineering Services Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects. 

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design Build Management team are driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to manage their multi-disciplined design teams to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-driven engineers analyze root causes and resolve design issues before they impact schedule and budget. Particularly on large design-build projects, clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and design best practices for all projects that we support.

This location will be based out of Pittsburgh, PA

  • Join the Infrastructure Systems management team, actively participating in the development of an industry disrupting integrated delivery model that will allow Kiewit maximum value to our clients
  • Assess current engineering and integration practices, working to implement and institutionalize industry best systems engineering processes for the Kiewit Infrastructure business
  • Define opportunities for greater turnkey self-perform across the organization in systems disciplines such as train control, communications and electrification utilizing both traditional and new technology
  • Work across disciplines and drive best practice application of project management and system integration toolsets on individual projects
  • Facilitate problem solving and solution development by the project teams, enabling schedule and cost certainty
  • Create a challenging professional environment of innovation, opportunity, development and continuous improvement that supports organizational objectives
  • Inspire, Coach, and Develop & Mentor Junior team members
  • Assess industry trends with respect to technology deployment and project delivery, providing actionable plans for Kiewit to drive innovation and expand market share
  • Enhance the organizations profile and reach across the rail systems domain
  • Build rapport with clients, contractors, internal, and external staff
  • 10+ years' experience with focus on Rail & Transit systems design and integration
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Ability to represent Kiewit in industry policy and engineering committees
  • Experience leading technology deployment on multi-million dollar contracts, including ownership of systems engineering process, specifications, design, subcontractor performance, testing, startup and commissioning 
  • Ability to travel as business requires (estimated 50%)
