Position Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an opening for seasoned and dynamic environmental manager. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and delivering complex infrastructure projects such as: transportation, ports, and power-related (hydro, LNG) environmental planning projects in Western Canada, with experience in federal and provincial laws and regulations. Additionally, we are looking for someone with proven experience in Design-Build, Progressive Design Build and Alliance contract models. The person in this position will work with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams comprised of internal peers, clients, and subconsultants.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Location
This position will begin based out of our Burnaby, BC office, reporting to the Senior Environmental Manger.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for coordinating environmental permitting, reports, and technical documentation, as well as managing tasks and mentoring/leading junior staff and other team members in the delivery of environmental products.
- Support in the review and develop the environmental aspects (e.g., scheduling, estimates, risk assessment, etc.) for proposals and project delivery.
- Assist in the delivery of environmental SOP’s for proposals and projects.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff on technical and professional issues.
- Collaborate and assist in developing implementation of strategies and risk assessments for delivering environmental components of projects.
- Inform scheduling and estimating teams regarding environmental permitting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of scope, schedule, and budget for new projects and providing technical responses to RFPs with related information and requirements.
- Review documents that meet requirements for environmental approvals or re-evaluations, permit applications and permit amendments, environmental management plans and other required environmental submittals.
- Collaborate with infrastructure planning, engineering, urban design/landscaping, project design management and other disciplines.
- Assist with quality reviews of deliverables to client requirements to ensure high-quality products are being produced on time and on budget.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in increasingly complex environmental regulatory planning and design roles, specifically within the infrastructure and transportation sector, including projects related to highways, bridges, ports, and other large infrastructure projects
- Undergraduate degree in an environmental science, environmental engineering or related field.
- Must be registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a RPBio with the College of Applied Biology in British Columbia
- Background in fisheries and aquatics is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental legislation.
- Mastery of Microsoft products to perform assigned tasks.
- ESRI ArcGIS preferred but not required.
- Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.

Base Compensation: $110,000/yr - $130,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
