Position Overview

As a Document Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the Project Document Control Program throughout the project lifecycle. 

District Overview

Kiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.  We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard working individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty! Our current opportunities are spread across the entire west coast of Canada. 


This position is based in Burnaby, BC.



  • Work with various departments to find, organize and track documents within the document management system.
  • Ensure document control function is being performed in accordance with corporate procedures and project requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Facilitate flow of information and communication between clients, vendors, subcontractors, and staff; for various projects.
  • Build communication lines and relationships with stakeholders in the engineering, procurement, and document management teams to meet deadlines.
  • Identify gaps in documentation requirements and filing conventions and reconcile to established control requirements.
  • Manage version control and access to documentation.


  • 3+ years of experience in document control within a construction or industrial industry.
  • Experience working with electronic document management systems such as InEight is a strong asset.
  • Excellent administrative capability to organize, file and manage information flow.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and strategize workload based on project requirements.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
